At Long last, Rhode Islanders will have the patriotic opportunity of honoring its 96,000 veterans of World War II with its own memorial in Memorial Park near the site of the WW I  Monument.  The reason, purpose and goal of the memorial is to ensure that the people of our state forever value the sacrifices made during that period of our history by the "The Greatest Generation".

The names of the 2560 Rhode Islanders who lost their lives in WW II will be inscribed on the Honor Roll Wall at the entrance of the World War II Memorial.
